Background
I received my bachelor's and master's degrees in Physics from Delhi University in India and my PhD from the Inter University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics in Pune, India. Subsequently, I held postdoctoral positions at Caltech in Pasadena, California (as a postdoc at Northwestern University and a visiting scholar at Caltech), then at Penn State in University Park, Pennsylvania, and finally at the Max-Planck-Institute für Gravitationsphysik in Golm, Germany. I came to The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College (UTB/TSC) as an assistant professor in September 2003.
