Background
I received a "licenciado" (the equivalent of a combined bachelor's and master's degree), and then a PhD in Mathematical Cosmology, from the University of Córdoba in Argentina. I then took up a postdoctoral position at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. From 1990 to 1996, I worked as an assistant professor at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennslyvania. In 1996, I came to The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College (UTB/TSC) as a full professor.
